Dr. Richard Marvel has been in the Mid Atlantic area his entire life. He grew up in southern Delaware and then went to college in Baltimore at the Johns Hopkins University. He did his medical training at the West Virginia University followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia (now Drexel). He has dedicated his practice to the evaluation and management of chronic pain disorders in women.
He is nationally known in this field and he is on the Board of Directors of the International Pelvic Pain Society. He was the President of the International Pelvic Pain Society. He has been Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1994. He is an active member in the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Surgeons and a regional expert in minimally invasive surgery. He is internationally known for his expertise in the evaluation and management of pelvic pain disorders. Dr. Marvel is on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Board of Directors of the International Pelvic Pain Society.
Dr. Marvel is the only Gynecologist in the Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia corridor who specializes in both chronic pelvic and vulvar pain disorders.
